Check the links to the right of this
page for meet entry instructions and a guide to new parents--what to expect
at swim meets, etc. Also the USA-Swimming rule book,
and a link to the Capital City Summer League website, and the league's "In-season Meet Guide"--how CCSL meets are to be run.
The links on the left are to the meet entry page, and the volunteer sign-up
page. When the meets are "open" you can select the events your child is to
swim, or simply declare participation, and the coach will decide. Remember
that the coach has final approval of individual entries, and will also make
up the relay teams.
Parent volunteers work both home meets and away meets, so while you're
signing up your swimmers, you need to sign up to work at the meet and
support the team.
Let's make this the best swim season ever!
Regards,
Coach Scott

HSC Individual Best Times List
Note: Previous 25-meter times have been 'converted' to 25-yard times for comparison. All remaining meets are in 25-yard pools.
Meet 5 at Circle C (6/17)
Entry List
Girls
Boys
|
This meet is the final "in-season" meet before Champs at A&M.
It will be a rematch with Circle C and Belterra.
If you haven't done so already, this meet is the last chance to
qualify for Champs. League rules require that entries to Champs have a valid
entry time achieved this season. (Entry list updated to show heat/lane assignments.)
|
Meet 4 at Circle C (6/10)
Entry List
Girls
Boys
|
This meet will be hosted by Circle C, which has a 50-meter pool, set up for
8 25-yard lanes "cross-wise". Also competing with us will be Travis Country,
the largest team in the league, so it will be a large meet. However the pool
offers the advantage of 8 lanes and a Dolphin timing system for faster
capture of swim times. They'll use fly-over starts--swimmers stay in the pool
until the next race is started--for 50-yard races.
|
Meet 3 at Belterra (6/3)
Entry List
Girls
Boys
|
This meet will be hosted by Belterra, which is also a 25-meter pool.
South Austin Baracudas will also participate, so it will be a large meet.
However the pool offers the advantage of a Dolphin timing system for faster
capture of swim times, facilitating fly-over starts, and they also have an
electronic scoreboard so you can see results at the end of the race. (Note:
these "short-course-meters" times will show up on Swimtopia for entry
purposes 'converted' to "yards" times, since the remaining meets are in
25-yard pools.)
|
Meet 2 at Shady Hollow (5/27)
Entry List
Girls
Boys
|
We return to Shady Hollow. This meet will be another large meet, this time
Circle C will participate. The weather looks more promising. For many, this
will be a kick-off meet.
|
Meet 1 at Shady Hollow (5/20)
Rained out after free relays
Entry List
Girls
Boys
|
This is the kick-off a meet for the 2017 CCSL Season. Also participating
in this meet is Granada Hills/Western Oaks, and Texas School for the Deaf,
possibly a total of 570 swimmers. Many will be swimming their first
competition. And to top it off, they'll be competing in a 25-METER POOL, which
is about 3 yards longer than the Plum Creek pool. As soon as the meet host
has received entries, they will publish a heat sheet, which will give an idea
of how long the meet will last, so look for more news as the day approaches.
